Programme & Portfolio Delivery

Complex, multi-workstream delivery from initiation to benefits realisation.

I have spent twenty years delivering programmes that others said couldn't be done on time, on budget, or at all. From rescuing an overrunning global CRM programme during COVID lockdown to securing board approval for a £multi-million global retail rollout, I bring the governance, the rigour, and the calm under pressure that complex delivery demands.

Whether you need end-to-end programme leadership, portfolio oversight, or someone to step in and stabilise a programme that has drifted, I can provide the structure and momentum to get things back on track and keep them there.

Digital Transformation & Process Optimisation

Finding the sticking points others miss and building solutions that last.

My approach to transformation always starts with the business process, not the technology. I map existing workflows, identify where data is lost, duplicated, or misaligned, and look for synergies between platforms before recommending a path forward. This means the solutions I design are grounded in operational reality rather than vendor preference.

Having worked with customer and company data since the early 2000s, I understand the importance of good quality, secure data capture, processing, and delivery. I am systems-agnostic and have worked across virtually every category of business technology, which means I can give you honest advice with no hidden allegiances.

Interim IT Leadership

Experienced, steady hands at Head of Technology or Director level.

Sometimes an organisation needs senior IT leadership quickly, whether to cover a departure, support a period of rapid change, or provide experienced oversight during a critical programme. I have operated at Head of Technology and Director level across multiple organisations and can step into a leadership role with minimal ramp-up time.

I build teams as well as lead them. At Odgers I hired, developed, and mentored project managers, business analysts, systems administrators, and developers. I understand what good looks like across each discipline and how to get the best from people in a high-pressure delivery environment.

Technology Selection & Implementation

Impartial advice on the right tools, then delivery you can rely on.

Choosing the wrong technology platform is an expensive mistake. I have led RFP processes, proof of concept programmes, and full implementations across virtually every category of business technology, from point of sale and payment systems to CRM, ERP, and AI toolsets.

Because I am systems-agnostic and work independently, the advice I give is genuinely impartial. I have no preferred vendors, no referral arrangements, and no incentive to recommend anything other than what is right for your organisation. Once a decision is made, I can lead the implementation end to end.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about working with Digital World Consulting.

What types of organisations do you work with?

I work with FTSE 100, Fortune 500, and mid-market organisations across sectors including financial services, hospitality, retail, entertainment, healthcare, and education. I am equally comfortable in large enterprises and growing businesses, and I am deliberately sector agnostic — the discipline of good programme delivery and thoughtful transformation applies everywhere.

How do you charge for your services?

I offer three engagement models: a day rate for flexible or interim work, a fixed price for projects with a clearly defined scope and outcomes, and a retained advisory arrangement for ongoing strategic support. The right model depends on the nature of your engagement — I am always happy to discuss what works best in a discovery call.

Do you work on-site, remotely, or a combination?

Both, depending on what the engagement requires. Strategic and advisory work often runs well remotely. Interim leadership roles and active programme delivery frequently benefit from on-site presence, particularly in the early stages to build relationships and establish pace. I am based in Milton Keynes, UK, and work across the UK and internationally.

What sectors have you worked in?

Over 20+ years I have worked across more than 12 sectors including financial services, hospitality, retail, entertainment, healthcare, engineering, and education. Past clients include Whitbread Plc, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Merlin Entertainments, Odgers, Sulzer Pumps, L.K. Bennett, and The Open University. Being sector agnostic means I bring an independent perspective and transferable delivery skills wherever I work.

How quickly can you start a new engagement?

Availability varies depending on current commitments. The best way to find out is to book a free 45-minute discovery call — we can explore your requirements, discuss timelines, and work out whether and how I can help, with no obligation on either side.

Not sure which service fits your needs?

Most engagements start with a conversation. Tell me what you are trying to achieve and we will work out the best approach together.
